ice skating!

The rumors are true!

Georgetown has a waterfront ice rink, and it officially opens today.  Now we don't have to fight the crowd at the sculpture garden..

Since October, Clark Construction have been transforming the Washington Harbour fountain into a seasonal ice-skating rink.  DCist reports that the rink will be open through March seven days a week.

Hours are:
noon to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday;
noon to 10 p.m. Friday;
10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday; and
10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

The rates are $9 for adults; $7 for children, seniors and military. Skate rentals are $5.

The Georgetown Waterfront ice rink will host additional activities throughout the skating season, including Cartoon Skate from noon to 2 p.m. and Rock-N-Skate from 8 to 10 p.m. every Saturday; College Night every Thursday; Skate with Santa from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22.

Grab your skates!  It's certainly cold enough..
